Christian Pincock is an active trombonist, composer and educator who is adept in varied musical situations. He has shared the stage with well-known artists including Bob Brookmeyer, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Bobby Shew and George Garzone and has composed and arranged works for big band, jazz combos, brass ensembles, popular music groups, studio orchestra, film, and experimental ensembles while living in Boston, New York Berlin and Albuquerque.
Christian is an active touring artist and educator, having presented performances of original compositions, lectures and workshops throughout the United States at institutions including University of Colorado, Colorado Springs; University of California, San Diego and University of New Mexico.
Christian holds a bachelor of music degree from New England Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music in jazz studies. He is currently a faculty member in both the Jazz Studies and Dance departments at the University of New Mexico. He has directed the High School Honors Jazz Program and the Community Jazz Big Band at the New Mexico Jazz Workshop and teaches individual lessons to jazz students and brass instrumentalists in person and via Skype. Christian also hosts a weekly radio show called The House That Jazz Built on KUNM 89.9 FM Albuquerque/Santa Fe.
